On Tuesday 27 June 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

In the morning, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Mirza Hajric, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Momo Sevarika (Counsellor) and Mr Edin Omerika (Secretary).

Afterwards, the Governor-General received from Her Excellency Ms Martha Mavrommati, Letters of Commission accrediting her as the High Commissioner for the Republic of Cyprus. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mr Vakis Zissimos (Consul).

Later, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Yohanes Kristiarto Soeryo Legowo, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Mohammad Aman (Minister), Mr Widad Prasojo Aji (Defence Attaché) and Mr Dadang Hidayat (Counsellor). The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Mrs Maria Caecilia Soeharli.

Then, the Governor-General received from Her Excellency Ms Lucky Sherpa, Letters of Credence accrediting her as the Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Rajendra Pandey (Counsellor), Ms Pramita Adhikari (Second Secretary) and Mr Dilli Ram Sharma (Attaché). The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Mr Ngwang Sonam Sherpa.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Christophe Penot, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the French Republic. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Nicolas Croizer (Consul General in Sydney), Mrs Julie Duhaut-Bedos (Deputy Head of Mission) and Captain Yann Marboeuf (Defence Attaché). The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Mrs Yukimi Penot.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a lunch in honour of newly accredited Heads of Mission. Guests included: Mr Mohammad Aman; Mr Nicolas Croizer; His Excellency Mr Abel Guterres and Mrs Ana Guterres; His Excellency Mr Mirza Hajric; His Excellency Mr Jairo Hernandez Milian; His Excellency Mr Yohanes Kristiarto Soeryo Legowo and Mrs Maria Caecilia Soeharli; Her Excellency Mrs Martha Mavrommati; Mr Rajendra Pandey; His Excellency Mr Christophe Penot and Ms Yukimi Penot; Ms Lyndall Sachs; Mr Momo Sevarika; Her Excellency Ms Lucky Sherpa and Mr Ngwang Sonam Sherpa; Ms Penny Williams; and Mr Vakis Zissimos.

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with students from Grafton Primary School, NSW, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
