150th Anniversary of Italian Unity; Reggio Children ??? International Centre; The Australian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale; Function for Italian companies and individuals who contributed significantly to Australian flood relief

On Saturday 4 June 2011, in Reggio Emilia, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Mayor of Reggio Emilia, Mr Graziano Delrio, visited the Reggio Emilia Town Hall and Tricolore Museum in recognition of the 150th Anniversary of Italian Unity.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the President of Reggio Children, Ms Carla Rinaldi, met with representatives of Reggio Children’s International Centre for the Defence and Promotion of the Rights and Potential of All Children.

Later, at the Venice Biennale, Venice, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer of the Australia Council, Ms Kathy Keele, and accompanied by the President of the Venice Biennale, Mr Paolo Baratta, formally opened the Australian Pavilion at the Biennale.

In the evening, at the Luna Hotel Baglioni, Venice, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a function in appreciation of representatives of Italian companies and individuals who contributed significantly to Australian flood relief fundraising.
