150th Anniversary of the NSW Police Force; Queenstown Resort College; Wakatipu High School; Northburn Station Farm; Margaret Olley Exhibition

On Thursday 1 March 2012, at the Sydney Town Hall, the Administrator, Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE, attended the ‘Sea of Blue’ street march to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the New South Wales Police Force, at which the Administrator received the official salute.

Earlier, in Queenstown, New Zealand, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Chairman, Sir Eion Edgar DCNZM and the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Charlie Phillips, visited the Queenstown Resort College.

Afterwards, at Wakatipu High School, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Acting Principal Mr Paul O’Connor and Teacher, Mr Hamish Robb, met with staff and students at the Winter Sports Academy.

Later, at Northburn Station Farm, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the co-owners, Mr Tom Pinckney and Mrs Jan Pinckney viewed the farm facilities and received a briefing on the farm’s biodiversity research.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce returned to Australia following their State Visit to New Zealand.

In the evening, at Sotheby’s Gallery, Woollahra, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Director of Philip Bacon Galleries, Mr Philip Bacon, attended the Margaret Olley exhibition at which the Governor-General delivered the opening address.
