2011 Remembrance Day Ceremony; Remembrance Day Lunch Reception

On Friday 11 November 2011, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Director of the Australian War Memorial, Major General Steve Gower AO, attended the 2011 Remembrance Day Ceremony, at which the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, laid a wreath at the Stone of Remembrance and a floral tribute at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a lunch reception to commemorate Remembrance Day; mark the 90th anniversary of the Royal Australian Air Force; 70th anniversary of the Siege of Tobruk; and 70th anniversary of the formation of the Women's Services, at which the Governor-General delivered an address.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as Patron, received from Girl Guides Australia, the Chief Commissioner, Ms Helen Geard and the Acting Executive Officer, Ms Delia Nicholls.
