2011 Sydney Film Festival; 2011 National Volunteers Week; Tiko Community Centre; Bruce Storey Memorial Library Opening; Baird Institute 10th Anniversary; Australian Indigenous Education Foundation; Danang People's Committee; Royal Life Saving Society; Fred Hollows Preventable Blindness Program; Hue People's Committee

On Wednesday 11 May 2011, at Customs House, Sydney, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO attended the launch of the 2011 Sydney Film Festival.

Afterwards, at Government House, the Administrator attended the 2011 National Volunteers Week function for St Vincent’s and Mater Hospital.

Later, the Administrator received from the Tiko Community Centre, Zambia, the Founder, Sister Elke Kroeger-Radcliffe and Fundraising Organiser, Ms Heather Chisholm.

In the afternoon, at The Swifts, Darling Point, the Administrator attended a reception in honour of Lady Primrose Potter AC.

Afterwards, at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, the Administrator and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE attended the opening of the Bruce Storey Memorial Library.

In the evening, at Government House, the Administrator and Sir Nicholas hosted a reception in honour of the 10th Anniversary of the Baird Institute.

Afterwards, at Allens Arthur Robinson Offices, the Administrator attended the annual gathering of the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation and launched the 2011 Annual Report.

Earlier, at the People’s Committee, Danang, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE met with the Danang People’s Committee.

Afterwards, at Be Van Dan Primary School, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Royal Life Saving Society, met with students taking part in the SwimSafe program.

Later, at Hue Eye Hospital, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce visited the Fred Hollows Preventable Blindness program.

In the afternoon, at Hue Imperial Citadel, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce met with the Hue People’s Committee.

In the evening, at La Residence Hotel, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Hue People’s Committee, attended a reception for Australian alumni and scholarship recipients.
