2015 Australian of the Year Awards Call for Nominations; Kensington Public School visit; Salvation Army Headquarters visit

On Wednesday 11 June 2014, at Darling Park Town, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of the Chair of the National Australia Day Council, Mr Adam Gilchrist AM, launched the call for nominations for the 2015 Australian of the Year Awards.

Afterwards, at Kensington Public School, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Principal, Mr Maurice Johnson, visited the Confucius Classroom and met with teachers and students.

Later, at the Salvation Army Headquarters, Sydney, the Governor-General as Patron of the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal, and Lady Cosgrove, met with Territorial Commander Australian Eastern Territory, Commissioner James Condon, and Territorial Command Australian Southern Territory, Commissioner Floyd Tidd, followed by an afternoon tea with staff.
