7th Women and Policing Conference; Ronald McDonald House Hobart; Beacon Foundation; OAK Tasmania; National Security Senior Leadership Forum dinner

On Monday 22 August 2011, at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, Hobart, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as guest of the Acting President of Australasian Council of Women and Policing, Assistant Commissioner Carlene York APM, delivered the opening address at the 7th Women and Policing Conference.

Afterwards, at the Ronald McDonald House, the Governor-General, as Patron-in-Chief, visited Ronald McDonald House Hobart and met with staff, volunteers, patients and families.

Later, as guest of the Chairman, Mr Bill Lawson AM, and as Patron of the Beacon Foundation, the Governor-General met with staff and program participants of the Beacon Program in Hobart.

Then, the Governor-General, as guest of the Chief Executive Officer, Mr John Paton, visited OAK Tasmania’s Walkabout Industries.

In the evening, at Duntroon House, Royal Military College Duntroon, Canberra, the Governor-General, as guest of the National Security Leadership Group, attended the National Security Senior Leadership Forum dinner.

Earlier, at Melbourne International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Republic of Seychelles, His Excellency Mr James Alix Michel, by Brigadier David Shields ADC, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
