On Tuesday 10 May 2011, at Mount Annan Botanic Gardens, Campbelltown, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO attended the Aboriginal Child Health Symposium and opened the Gudaga Showcase.
In the evening, at the State Library of New South Wales, Sydney, the Administrator launched ‘Book Life: The Life and Times of David Scott Mitchell’ by Ms Eileen Chanin.
Earlier, at the War Memorial, Hanoi, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General laid a wreath.
Afterwards, at the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General laid a wreath.
Later, at Mai Dich School, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, in conjunction with the Asia Injury Prevention Foundation, presented motorcycle helmets to local school children.
In the afternoon, at Furama Function Centre, Danang, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended the opening of the World Conference on Drowning Prevention, at which the Governor-General delivered the opening address.
In the evening, at the University of Danang, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce met with students enrolled in the University of Danang – University of Queensland English Language Institute.
Earlier, at Brisbane International Airport the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Marcus Stephen MP, by Commander Lachlan King ADC RAN, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
