AIATSIS visit; Call by Their Majesties The King and Queen of Tonga; Visit to Russell offices
On Tuesday 22 April 2014, at the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Principal, Mr Russell Taylor, visited the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies in recognition of the institute’s 50th anniversary.
Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove received Their Majesties King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau’u of Tonga.
Later, at Russell offices, the Governor-General, as a guest of the Secretary, Department of Defence, Mr Dennis Richardson AO, met with Defence civilians.
