ANZAC Day Dawn Service; Investiture; National Day ceremony; Veterans’ gathering; Farewell from Australia of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge; Super Rugby match
On Friday 25 April 2014, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, as guests of the Chairman of the Council of the War Memorial, Rear Admiral Ken Doolan AO RAN (Retd), the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove attended the ANZAC Day Dawn Service.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended an investiture at which Mr Mark Fraser LVO OAM was invested with the insignia of Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order by His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge.
Later, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, as guests of the Chairman of the Council of the War Memorial, Rear Admiral Ken Doolan AO RAN (Retd), the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended the National Day ceremony.
Then, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President, RAR Association ACT Branch, Brigadier Stephen Dunn AM (Retd), met with veterans.
In the afternoon, at Defence Establishment Fairbairn, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended the farewell from Australia of Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
In the evening, at Canberra Stadium, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Soldier On, Mr John Bale, attended an ANZAC Day Super Rugby match between the ACT Brumbies and the Waikato Chiefs.
