On Tuesday 3 April 2012, at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, as guest of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Ms Rowena Danziger AM, viewed the Archibald Wynne and Sulman Prize winners.
Afterwards, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator received the Ambassador of Mongolia, His Excellency Mr Tserendorj Jambaldorj, and the Honorary Consul-General for Mongolia, Mr Peter Sloane.
Earlier, at the State House, Pohnpei, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO met with the President of the Federated States of Micronesia, His Excellency President Emanuel Mori. Afterwards, the Governor-General and President attended a tree planting ceremony to commemorate the visit.
Afterwards, at the Congress, the Governor-General met with the Speaker of the Federated States of Micronesia, Mr Isaac Figir.
Later, the Governor-General, as guest of the Governor of Pohnpei, Mr John Ehsa, viewed the Island Food Community of Pohnpei project and met with community members and volunteers.
Then, the Governor-General, as guest of the Maritime Surveillance Advisor, Lieutenant Commander Geoff Hart-Davies RANR, met with members of the Federated States of Micronesia Police Maritime Wing and viewed the Pacific Patrol Boats.
Afterwards, at the Service Memorial at Pohnpei International Airport, the Governor-General paid her respects to Federated States of Micronesia service personnel who had lost their lives while on active service.
In the afternoon, at Honiara International Airport, Solomon Islands, the Governor-General, as guest of the Governor-General of the Solomon Islands, His Excellency Sir Frank Kabui and Her Excellency Lady Kabui, attended a ceremonial welcome.
Afterwards, at Government House, Honiara, the Governor-General met with the Governor-General of the Solomon Islands.
Later, in the Main Chamber of Parliament House, the Governor-General addressed the Women’s Leadership Forum ‘Stori Weitem Olketa Meri’ and later, as Patron of the International Women’s Development Agency, and as guest of the founder of West Are Are Rokotanikeni Association (WARA), Dr Alice Pollard, launched two Women’s Financial Literacy Training Booklets ‘Women and Money Solomon Islands’ and ‘Women and Banking Solomon Islands’.
Then, at the Guadalcanal Beach Resort, Honiara, the Governor-General received a briefing on the Regional Assistance Mission Solomon Islands by Special Coordinator, Mr Nicholas Coppel, and met with representatives of the Participating Police Force and Combined Task Force 635.
In the evening, the Governor-General returned to Australia following her regional visit to the Pacific.
