Audience with Her Majesty The Queen; ‘Women of Achievement’ Luncheon; 30th Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Aboriginal Land Rights Act (NSW); 87th Birthday of Her Majesty The Queen; Official visit to the United Kingdom
On Tuesday 11 June 2013, at Buckingham Palace, London, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE were received by Her Majesty The Queen.
At the Four Seasons Hotel, Sydney, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, as Patron, was the Guest of Honour at The Black and White Committee’s 28th ‘Women of Achievement’ luncheon, in support of Vision Australia.
Later, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator hosted an afternoon tea to mark the 30th Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Aboriginal Land Rights Act (NSW).
In the evening, the Administrator, accompanied by Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE, hosted a reception to mark the 87th Birthday of Her Majesty The Queen.
Earlier, at Stoke Lodge, the Governor-General, as guest of the High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, His Excellency the Honourable Mike Rann CNZM, attended a morning tea with prominent women in the United Kingdom.
In the afternoon, at the St Paul’s Way Trust School, the Governor-General, as guest of Lord Andrew Mawson OBE and the Headmaster, Mr Grahame Price, attended a briefing on the social enterprise transformation project, and later met with students and presented School Colours.
Afterwards, at East London Tech City, the Governor-General, as guest of the the Vice Chancellor of London Metropolitan University, Professor Malcolm Gillies AM, and the Manager of the London Accelerator Program, Mr Richard Celm, attended an afternoon tea with Tech City students and young Australian entrepreneurs.
In the evening, at Stoke Lodge, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the High Commissioner, attended a dinner with young Australians living in the United Kingdom.
