Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre; Burrunju Aboriginal Corporation Art Gallery; National Indigenous Youth Parliament reception; Dinner in honour of the Chief of the Defence Force
On Friday 30 May 2014, at the Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer, Ms Rachelle Towart, and in recognition of National Reconciliation Week, attended a morning tea with staff and alumni. Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove met with community members participating in the Reconciliation Planting Day activities.
Later, at Yarramundi Reach, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Co-ordinator, Ms Linda Husselton, visited the Burrunju Aboriginal Corporation.
Then, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General received the Head of Strategy, Cape York Partnerships, Mr Jimi Bostock.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Indigenous Youth Governor-General, National Indigenous Youth Parliament 2014, Miss Tara Liddy.
Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a reception for the National Indigenous Youth Parliament.
In the evening, at Red Hill, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the High Commissioner of New Zealand, His Excellency Mr Chris Seed, attended a dinner in honour of the Chief of the Defence Force, General David Hurley AC DSC.
