Australian Year of the Farmer 2012; Male Champions of Change Research; La Boheme

On Wednesday 12 October 2011, at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended an event at which the Governor-General, as Patron, officially launched the Australian Year of the Farmer 2012.

Afterwards, at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Ms Elizabeth Broderick, attended the launch of the Male Champions of Change research report, at which the Governor-General delivered the opening address.

Later, at the Sydney Opera House, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Chief Executive of Opera Australia, Mr Adrian Collette AM, attended Opera Australia’s production of La Bohème.

Earlier, at Melbourne International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Marcus Stephen MP, by Wing Commander Mark Masini ADC, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
