Award presentations; Farewell reception for the Diplomatic Corps

On Thursday 6 March 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO received the Mayor of the Lockyer Regional Council, Councillor Steve Jones AM.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Patron, received the State Commissioner of the ACT Girls’ Brigade, Ms Marian Ashford, and the ACT Queen’s Award Coordinator, Ms Melissa Moglia. The Governor-General presented the Queen’s Award to Ms Rhonda Offler, who was accompanied by Mr Owen Offler, Ms Elizabeth Offler, and Mr Michael Hunter.

Later, the Governor-General, as Patron, received the Deputy Chair of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Australia, the Honourable Sandra Nori, and the Manager Client Programs, Muscular Dystrophy NSW, Ms Loretta Downie. The Governor-General presented the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award to Ms Melanie Tran, who was accompanied by Ms Monica Tran, Mr Phillip Tran, and Ms Pene Hodge.

In the evening, the Governor-General hosted a farewell reception for the Diplomatic Corps.
