Ballina, New South Wales; Gatton and Laidley, Queensland; Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

On Wednesday 22 June 2022, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, travelled from Ballina, New South Wales, to Gatton, Queensland.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Patrick Testa, acting Campus Director, University of Queensland, Gatton, met with primary producers and industry representatives impacted by flooding in the Lockyer Valley.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Councillor Michael Hagan, Lockyer Valley Regional Council, met with residents from flood affected communities in the Lockyer Valley.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Ian Church, Chief Executive Officer, Lockyer Valley Regional Council, attended a working lunch with members of the Lockyer Valley Local Recovery Committee.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Neil Williamson, Coordinator Engagement and Communications, Lockyer Valley Regional Council, met with representatives of community organisations involved in flood recovery and relief.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Gatton, Queensland, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
