On Friday 16 February 2024, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley travelled from Bangkok, to Chiang Rai, Thailand.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Dispanadda Diskul, Chief Executive Officer, Mae Fah Luang Foundation, visited the Doi Tung Development project site.
Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Diskul, attended a lunch at the Doi Tung Development project site.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Adirek Laithaisong, District Chief, Khun Tal District, visited the Mekong-Australia Partnership climate resilience project site.
In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley visited the White Temple.
In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Her Excellency Dr Angela Macdonald PSM, Australian Ambassador to Thailand, attended a reception with representatives of Australian and Thai communities in Chiang Rai.
