On Thursday 26 October 2017, in Bangkok, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove received a briefing from the Ambassador to Thailand, His Excellency Mr Paul Robilliard.

Afterwards, at the Australian Embassy, Bangkok, as guests of Mr Robilliard, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, viewed the facilities of the new Embassy and met with staff.

Later, in Bangkok, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove met with the Governor-General of Canada, the Right Honourable Julie Payette OC CQ.

In the afternoon, at the Sanam Luang Royal Cremation Grounds, Bangkok, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove represented the Government and the people of Australia at the Royal Cremation Ceremony of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

Later, at Don Mueang International Airport, Bangkok, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove were farewelled from the Kingdom of Thailand by Privy Councillor, Air Chief Marshal Chalit Pukpasuk.
