On Monday 4 June 2012, at the Adelaide Convention Centre, the Administrator, Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR and Mrs Liz Scarce, as guests of the Bedford Chairman, Mr Colin Dunsford, attended the graduation ceremony for participants of the Bedford ‘Abilities for All’ program, at which the Administrator presented awards.
In the evening, at the Playford Civic Centre, the Administrator and Mrs Scarce, as guests of the Premier of South Australia, the Honourable Jay Weatherill MP, attended a beacon lighting ceremony and civic reception in honour of Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, at which the Administrator gave an address and participated in the official lighting of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Earlier, at Clarence House, London, the Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, met with His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales.
Afterwards, at Stoke Lodge, London, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Mr Bryce attended a morning tea in honour of the members and volunteers of Surf Life Saving Australia and the Royal Australian Navy who participated in the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant.
Later, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a performance by Mr Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu.
Then, the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, conducted an investiture ceremony.
In the evening, at Buckingham Palace, London, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of Her Majesty The Queen, attended a reception followed by the BBC Diamond Jubilee Concert and lighting of the National Jubilee Beacon by Her Majesty.
