Bingham Cup; Lancers parade

On Saturday 30 August 2014, at Woollahra Oval, Rose Bay, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of the President, Mr Andrew Purchas, met with competitors and volunteers at the Bingham Cup.

Afterwards, in Parramatta, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Lord Mayor, the Right Worshipful Councillor John Chedid, attended the Lancers Parade to commemorate the centenary of the raising of the 1st Light Horse.

Earlier, at Melbourne International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the transit through Australia of the President of the Union of the Comoros, His Excellency Dr Ikililou Dhoinine, by Commander Michael Murray ADC RAN, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

Later, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Government of New Caledonia, Ms Cynthia Ligeard, by Colonel Debra Bradford ADC, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
