On Sunday 3 September 2017, at Congregational Christian Church of Samoa, Willawong, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Senior Elder, Reverend Tauaaga Mataafa, addressed the congregation and presented a photo of the Former Head of State of the Independent State of Samoa, His Highness Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi and Her Highness Masiofo Filifilia Tamasese from a recent visit to the Independent State of Samoa.

Afterwards, at Eileen Peters Park, Surfers Paradise, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chair, Rosies Friends on the Street, Mr John Scoble, attended the Rosies Friends on the Street Queensland 30th anniversary reception.
