Broome, WA

On Monday 1 October 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, met with staff and students at the University of Notre Dame’s Broome campus, as guests of Ms Sarah Cordiner, Head of Campus.

Afterwards, Their Excellencies met with organisers and members of ‘Kimberley Girl’, and viewed operations at Goolarri Media, as guests of Ms Kira Fong, Chief Operations Officer.

Then, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove met with community and business leaders during a reception at the Broome Civic Centre, as guests of Councillor Harold Tracey, President, Broome Shire Council.

Later, Their Excellencies met with staff at Magabala Books, Broome, as guests of Ms Anna Moulton, Chief Executive Officer. In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove participated in a smoking ceremony and were officially welcomed to Yawuru country as guests of Mr Peter Yu, Chief Executive Officer, Nyamba Buru Yawuru.
