On Thursday 28 September 2017, at Parliament House, Budapest, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove met with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, Mr László Kövér.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Hungarian Parliament, conducted a tour of the facilities and met with staff.

In the afternoon, at Kárpátia Restaurant and Brasserie, Budapest, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Ambassador to Hungary, Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo and the Slovak Republic, His Excellency Dr Brendon Hammer, attended an event with members of the Australian-Hungarian community.

Afterwards, at the Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery, Solymár, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Aide-de-Camp to the President of Hungary, General László Szegõ, participated in a remembrance ceremony, laid a wreath and viewed the graves of Australian service personnel.

Later, at Szentendre, Hungary, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Australian artist, Ms Dawn Csutoros, viewed an art exhibition and received a briefing.
