Cairo, Egypt; Beirut, Lebanon

On Sunday 22 October 2017, at the Egyptian Museum, Cairo, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Director of the Egyptian Museum, Ms Sabah Abd El Razaki, and Egyptologist, Mrs Jane Smyth, viewed exhibits.

Afterwards, at the Unknown Soldier Memorial, Cairo, the Governor-General laid wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider and at the Tomb of President Sadat.

Later, at Etehadiya Palace, Cairo, the Governor-General met with the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, His Excellency Mr Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

Then, at Cairo International Airport, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove were farewelled from Cairo by the Minister of Public Enterprise Sector, His Excellency Mr Ashraf Sharkawy.

In the afternoon, at Rafic Hariri International Airport, Beirut, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove were welcomed by the Ambassador to Lebanon, His Excellency Mr Glenn Miles and the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Dr Pierre Raffoul.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove received a delegation briefing from Mr Miles.
