On Friday 15 November 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as Patron, received the Director of Monash University’s Gender, Leadership and Social Sustainability Research Institute, Professor Margaret Alston OAM.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines, Her Excellency Mrs Belen Anota, to convey her condolences to those affected by Typhoon Haiyan.

Then, the Governor-General was represented at Sydney International Airport at the departure from Australia of the King of Tonga, His Majesty King George Tupou VI, by Colonel Michael Miller RFD ADC, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

Earlier, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guest speaker, attended the Brisbane State High School Graduation Ceremony.
