On Wednesday 28 July 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the Director of the Institute for Ethics, Governance and Law, Griffith University, Professor Charles Sampford; Professor Ramesh Thakur from the Department of Political Science, University of Waterloo, Canada; and Vice-President, of the United Nations Association of Australia, Ms Susan Forbes.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received the Chair of the Breast Cancer Network Australia and Chair of Legal Aid Queensland, Ms Margaret O’Donnell.
