On Monday 1 July 2019, at Parliament House, Canberra, General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Hurley attended a ceremony at which General Hurley was sworn-in as the twenty-seventh Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a lunch at Government House, Canberra.
