On Tuesday 14 August 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) received Lieutenant General John G Castellaw USMC (Retd), at Government House, Canberra.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, attended the 2019 Canberra Symphony Orchestra Season Launch, at the National Portrait Gallery, Parkes, as guests of Air Chief Marshal Sir Angus Houston AK AFC (Retd), Chair, Canberra Symphony Orchestra.

Earlier, the Governor-General participated in a video call with students from Holy Spirit Primary School, ACT, as part of their civics and citizenship class. Afterwards, the Governor-General met with students from St Stephen’s Primary School, QLD; and Byron Bay Public School, NSW, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
