On Thursday 19 July 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) presided over a meeting of the Federal Executive Council, at Government House, Canberra.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received Mr Matthew Neuhaus, Ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, for a pre-posting call.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove received Mr Roderick Brazier, High Commissioner to Solomon Islands, and Mrs Amita Brazier.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Trinity Lutheran College, VIC; Governor Stirling Senior High School, WA; and Genesis Christian College, QLD, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
