On Thursday 21 June 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) presided over a meeting of the Federal Executive Council at Government House, Canberra.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received His Excellency Dr Attila Gruber, Ambassador of Hungary.

Later, the Governor-General received Her Excellency Mrs Emilia Stefanova, Ambassador to the Republic of Bulgaria.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received Senator the Honourable Mathias Cormann and Senator the Honourable Mitch Fifield and assented to the Treasury Laws Amendment (Personal Income Tax Plan) Bill 2018.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Fairy Meadow Public School, NSW; Ellenbrooke and Beechboro Christian Colleges, WA; Coogee Boys Prep School, NSW; and Nazareth College, SA; as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
