On Tuesday 8 May 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Commander-in-Chief, attended the Australian Defence Force Association’s Chief of the Defence Force Cup, as guest of President, Air Marshal Leo Davies AO CSC, at Fairbairn Golf Course, Canberra.

Afterwards, Lady Cosgrove laid a wreath at the Nurses and Midwives Remembrance and Thanksgiving Wreath Laying ceremony, as guest of Director, Australian War Memorial, The Honourable Dr Brendan Nelson AO.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a dinner in honour of former serving Chiefs of the Defence Force, as guests of the Chief of the Defence Force, Air Chief Marshal Mark Binskin AC.
