On Wednesday 18 April 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) received from His Excellency Mr Baeksoon Lee, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Jin-weon Chae (Minister and Consul-General), Colonel Sungman Choi (Defence Attaché), and Mr Jinhae Kim (Counsellor). The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Mrs Jeeyoon Chun.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received from Her Excellency Mrs Nantana Sivakua, Letters of Credence accrediting her as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mrs Thippawan Supamitkitja (Minister), Group Captain Angkharn Indra (Defence and Air Attaché), and Ms Mintira Pupatharapong (Counsellor).

Later, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Stefano Gatti, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Italian Republic. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Giorgio Daviddi (Second Secretary). The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Mrs Palmira Piersimoni.

Then, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Frank Bwalya, Letters of Commission accrediting him as the High Commissioner for the Republic of Zambia. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Godfrey Mulungushi (Second Secretary) and Ms Agness Kwesha (Second Secretary).

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a lunch in honour of newly accredited Heads of Mission. Guests included: His Excellency Mr Frank Bwalya; Mr Giorgio Daviddi; His Excellency Mr Stefano Gatti and Ms Palmira Piersimoni; His Excellency Mr Abel Guterres and Mrs Ana Paula Mok Guterres; Mr Jinhae Kim; His Excellency Mr Baeksoon Lee and Mrs Jeeyoon Chun; Ms Caroline Millar; Mr Godfrey Mulungushi; Ms Lyndall Sachs PSM; Her Excellency Mrs Nantana Sivakua; Mrs Thippawan Supamitkitja.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Servite College, WA; Moreton Bay College, QLD; and Sacred Heart College, WA as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
