On Thursday 7 December 2017, at Radio 1RPH, Gungahlin, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of the President, Ms Lorraine Litster, broadcast content for print handicap listeners in the Canberra, Wagga Wagga and Junee areas.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Ambassador to the United States of America, the Honourable Joe Hockey.

In the afternoon, at Pharmacy Guild House, Barton, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove as guests of the ACT Divisional President, Ms Anne-Marie Perret, attended the opening of the new ACT Division Business Centre and Member’s Lounge.

Afterwards, at the National Portrait Gallery of Australia, Barton, Lady Cosgrove, as Patron, and the Governor-General, attended the Canberra Hospital Foundation’s annual thank you function.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Kangaroo Island Community Education, SA; and Mortlake Public School, NSW, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
