On Thursday 16 November 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided over a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Pablo Guzman Laugier, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Plurinational State of Bolivia.

Later, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mathias Chikawe, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the High Commissioner for the United Republic of Tanzania.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as Patron, hosted an afternoon tea for the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from St George College, SA, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
