On Monday 18 September 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a lunch for the Australian War Memorial’s 2017 Soldiers in Residence participants. Guests included: Major Stuart Jones; Mr Gerard Pratt; Corporal Thomas Quirke; and Mrs Robyn Siers.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General met with students from St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School, WA, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
