On Thursday 7 September 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) presided over a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, at Calvary Clare Holland House, Barton, the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, presided over an Investiture Ceremony at which he invested Mrs Constance Johnson OAM, with the Medal of the Order of Australia in the General Division, ‘for service to people with breast cancer’.

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with students from Princess Street Primary School, TAS; and Dubbo Christian School, NSW, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
