On Friday 18 August 2017, at the Australian Vietnam Forces National Memorial, Campbell, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, attended the Vietnam Veterans’ Day Remembrance Service, at which the Governor-General delivered an address and with Lady Cosgrove, laid a wreath.
Afterwards, at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain, Yarralumla, as guests of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain, His Excellency Mr Manuel Cacho Quesada, signed a condolence book in sympathy for those affected by the terrorist attacks in Spain on 17 and 18 August 2017.
Later, the Governor-General met with students from Annandale Christian College, QLD, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
In the evening, at Melbourne International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Croatia, Her Excellency Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and Mr Jakov Kitarović, by Honorary Aide-de-Camp, Group Captain John Adams ADC.
