On Tuesday 9 April 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received Her Excellency Ms Beryl Sisulu, High Commissioner for the Republic of South Africa, for a farewell call at Government House, Canberra.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received His Excellency Mr Somasundaram Skandakumar, High Commissioner for the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, for a farewell call.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a lunch for the Service Warrant Officers and their partners.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Happy Valley Primary School, SA as they undertook a tour of Government House, as part of their visit to Canberra.
