On Friday 27 May 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) received from His Excellency Mr Fidelino Loy de Jesus Figueiredo, Letters of Credentials accrediting him as the Ambassador of Angola.

Later, the Governor-General, as Patron, received the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Paralympic Committee, Mrs Lynne Anderson.

Then, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a welcome home reception for the 2016 Invictus Games Team, at which the Governor-General delivered an address.

In the evening, at the Hellenic Club Woden, Lady Cosgrove, as Patron, and the Governor-General, as guests of Chief Executive Officer, Ms Dewani Bakkum, attended a Migrant and Refugee Settlement Services of the ACT fundraiser event.
