On Thursday 5 May 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a lunch for the Australian Bravery Decorations Council. Guests included: Ms Kathryn Andrews; Ms Fiona Birkett MVO; Mr Robert Bradley; Mr Garry Coombes AM; Dr Penelope Flett AO; Mr Tim Herbert; Wing Commander Nick Hobson DFC AFC (Retd); Mr Mick Kearns; Commissioner Dominic Lane AFSM; Mr Stephen Menschelyi; Mr Rik Morris; Mr Jeremi Moule; Mr Peter Sharp; and Mr John Trevillian AM.

Later, the Governor-General received the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, His Excellency Mr Bonghyun Kim.
