On Wednesday 13 March 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, received Letters of Credence from Doctor Tomáš Ferko, accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mrs Nora Heffner (Deputy Head of Mission). The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Mrs Laura Ferko.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, received Letter of Credence from Mr Arthur Boggess Culvahouse Junior, accrediting him as the Ambassador of the United States of America. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr James Carouso (Deputy Chief of Mission), Colonel RayPowell (Defence Attaché) and Mr Michael Heath (Counsellor).

Later, the Governor-General met with the Honourable Patricia Forsythe AM, High Commissioner-designate for New Zealand for a pre-posting call.

Then, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a lunch in honour of newly accredited Heads of Mission. Guests included Mr James Carouso; His Excellency Mr Arthur Boggess Culvahouse Junior; Mrs Laura Ferko; His Excellency Doctor Tomáš Ferko; His Excellency Mr Abel Guterres; Mrs Ana Guterres; Mrs Nora Heffner; His Excellency Mr John Kali; Mrs Vavinenama Vere Kali; Ms Lucy Kila; Her Excellency the Honourable Dame Annette King; Mr Christopher Langman; Mr Raymond Lind; Mr Llewellyn Roberts; Mrs Lyndal Sachs; Mrs Ingrid Southworth; and Her Excellency Vicki Treadell.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Nazareth College, Flinders Park, and St Peter’s Woodlands Grammar School, Glenelg, SA as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
