On Wednesday 6 February 2019 the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Professor Brian Schmidt AC, Vice-Chancellor, Australian National University, attended the official opening of Bruce and Wright Halls, at the Australian National University.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Prior, and Lady Cosgrove hosted a lunch in honour of the Lord-Prior designate of the Order of St John, Professor Mark Compton AM GCStJ, at Government House, Canberra.

Later, the Governor-General, as Prior, and Lady Cosgrove hosted an Investiture Ceremony for the Order of St John.

Earlier, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, met with students from Ceres Primary School, Victoria, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
