On Wednesday 12 December 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received His Excellency Mr José Galego Montano, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, for a farewell call, at Government House.

Later, the Governor-General, and Lady Cosgrove hosted a lunch for the Heads of Mission of 22 countries in the European Union, and representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to Australia and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Then, the Governor-General received senior executive staff from Invictus Games Sydney 2018, including Mr Patrick Kidd OBE, Chief Executive Officer and Mr Ben Rahily, Chief Operating Officer.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove received the Honourable Kim Beazley AC, Governor of Western Australia, and Ms Susie Annus.

Earlier the Governor-General met students from Gawler and District College, SA.
