On Tuesday 28 August 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General issued the Oath or Affirmations of their Office to newly appointed Ministers, Assistant Minsters and Parliamentary Secretaries:

Later, the Governor-General received the Ambassador-designate to Argentine Republic, at Government House, Canberra.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Rosewood State School, QLD; John Calvin School, WA; Northlakes Public School; and Bolwarra Public School, QLD, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
