On Monday 8 October 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, travelled to Melbourne. As guests of Professor Margaret Gardner AO, President and Vice-Chancellor, Monash University, Their Excellencies open the new Learning and Teaching Building, at the university’s Clayton campus.

Afterwards, Their Excellencies, as guests of Ms Georgie Harman, CEO, beyondblue, meet with staff at the organisation’s headquarters in Hawthorn.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Mr Sam Coffa AM, President, Commonwealth Games Australia, officially opened the agency’s new headquarters and meet with staff, at South Melbourne.
