On Monday 21 September 2020, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, hosted students and staff of the Defence and Strategic Studies Course, Australian Defence College, for a tour of Government House, Canberra.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received His Excellency Mr Bello Kazaure Husseini, High Commissioner for the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for a farewell call.
In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with Mr Ron Hooton, Chief Executive Officer, Vision Australia, and Ms Jane Bradley, Manager of Puppy Development, Seeing Eye Dogs, via video conference to discuss the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on operations.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with Ms Karen Hayes AM, Chief Executive Officer, Guide Dogs Victoria, via video conference to discuss the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on operations.
Later, the Governor-General recorded video messages for the Alcoholics Anonymous Australia National Convention and Fiji National Day.
Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as Joint Patrons, recorded video messages for Peer Support Australia and Children’s Book Council of Australia.
