On Wednesday 8 April 2020, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley participated in a virtual meeting with students from Launceston Grammar School.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received a telephone call from Ms Nikki Noakes, Centre Manager, The Veterans Centre Sydney.

Then, the Governor-General received a telephone call from Cr Tim Overall, Mayor, Queanbeyan-Palarang Regional Council.

Later, the Governor-General spoke with senior representatives of his patronages regarding the impact of COVID-19. This included telephone calls with Mr Jim Hungerford, Chief Executive Officer, The Shepherd Centre; and Mr Chris Rehn, Chief Executive, Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received a telephone call from Her Excellency Ms Kersti Kaljulaid, President of the Republic of Estonia.
