On Friday 24 April 2020, Their Excellencies, General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Dr Will Davies, Author, participated in the virtual launch of The Forgotten: The Chinese Labour Corps and the Chinese Anzacs in the Great War at which the Governor-General delivered the keynote address.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received a call from Ms Dianne Lucas, Chief Executive Officer, Spinal Cord Injuries Australia, to discuss the impact of COVID-19.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley spoke to Mr Ernie Walker OAM on the occasion of his 104th birthday.
Mrs Hurley, as Patron, recorded a reading of GoGo and the Lost Book in support of Paint the Town REaD’s national campaign ‘Read, Sing, Talk’.
Afterwards, Mrs Hurley, as Patron, hosted a virtual story time and sing-a-long for children at the Allowah Presbyterian Children’s Hospital.
