On Wednesday 13 May 2020, Their Excellencies, General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Dr Jenny Firman, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, and Ms Celia Street, First Assistant Secretary, visited and met with staff at the Department of Health’s National Incident Room.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley recorded an interview with Ms Di Darmody, Journalist, for Palliative Care Australia.

Later, the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, recorded a video message for the commissioning of NUSHIP Sydney.
