On Wednesday 14 August 2019, Their Excellencies, General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley attended a walk-through of artwork at Government House with Ms Rebecca Nielsen, Acting Associate Registrar, Loans and Exhibitions, National Gallery of Australia.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Dr Brendan Nelson AO, Director, Australian War Memorial, attended a Last Post Ceremony for Honouring Women United by Defence Service at the Australian War Memorial.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Paul Lane, Chair, Legacy Foundation, attended the Honouring Women United by Defence Service 2019 dinner at Australian Parliament House.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Nichols Point Primary School, Victoria, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
